Rhming!

Here are some fun videos you can watch and sing with your child to help increase their rhyming skills!

Rhyming skills are a part of phonological awareness. Having good phonological awareness is a good indicator of future reading skills. What are phonological awareness skills?

  • the ability to identify, think about, and play with the sounds in words
Children who have difficulties with communication often have poor phonological awareness skills.
Phonemic Awareness - the awareness of
sounds
in words (listening).
Phonics - connecting letters to sounds (looking and listening).
