Phonological Awareness with CVC Centers

CVC Centers

Here are 3 centers- 6 pages each. This is a quick, low prep product! I have included ideas on how to use the centers, but if you have another idea, great! Change it up.

1. For the first center, you need magnetic or foam letters to build the cvc words. Alternatively, you can use it to identify the beginning, middle and ending sounds.

2. The second center is for writing the word and colouring the pictures.

3. The last center- you can cut apart the pictures and have the student match them, or you can fold the word and have them unfold it once they’ve read it.

And it's only $0.50 this weekend!

CVC Center

CVC Word Building Center

Hey Guys!
Need a quick, easy center to get you through the last bit of the year?

CVC Words center: students will LOVE that provides a lot of CVC word reading practice!
Students choose a CVC card and then they
  • segment it,
  • talk about the beginning sound,
  • produce a rhyming word,
  • write it and then
  • build it
  • vocabulary- use it to introduce new vocabulary
So many skills in one- to target language skills you can talk about the category name of the item, label its parts, name things that are associated with it.. the possibilities are endless!
There are CVC words included, but you can also add your own, or use non-sense words.

Rhyming Necklaces

I like working on rhyming but I get a little tired of working on it the same old way so that got me thinking...How can I make it fun!? I think its important to get the kids up and moving too, then they don't get so antsy plus it just makes learning fun.
I came up with using necklaces and having people pairing up. there would be a group of 3- 1 rhyme leader and 2 with rhyme pictures that match the rhyme. Alternatively you can use them as mats for a literacy center!
Remember everything is free for the first 24 hrs!

Enjoy,
Cheers!
