 Do you need a quick freebie for your class or therapy! Here is a nice one to use just before Christmas break! You can have the kids sort the items and if that is too easy you can have them compare and contrast the items, name the category name and add 1 or 2 more items from that group.

Thanks for stopping in today!
Last year about 75% of my caseload was working on s blends. I went and looked for some good resources and got thinking why don't I re-vamp my artic. cards and fix my s blend freebie.

It has 40 artic. cards and a data sheet that is pretty generic and you can use any way that suits you.

Summer Handouts

 

Here is a parent handout freebie that is no prep!

You can send it home with kids on your caseload to show parents how they can use summer activities to increase the language skills of their children.

 You can send it home with your year end reports for your preschool caseload.

It is written in parent friendly language and gives specific ideas on how to use camping, and bubbles to get encourage language skills.

It is 7 pages,  black and white and free! Doesn't get much better than that!

Freebie- Letter Identification Mats

My biggest question from teachers is "do you have anything that targets letter knowledge?" Well, yes I do! The kids may be able to identify the beginning sound but aren't sure what letter goes wit it. I made this fun activity center to target just that! You get some playdoh, laminate the free mats and let each student grab a few pages and then cover the letter that goes with the beginning sound. I have made every sound including vowels. No diagraphs though!

Parent Handouts for Summer

During the summer many kids are spending a lot of time with family and not in speech therapy which is totally understandable! I feel like we need to get the "speech" word out there. I want to help parents by giving them easy strategies that they can use everyday to increase the language skills of their little guys. I always laugh when parents are so proud of themselves by telling me they do flashcards with their kids! Kids learn best through play... I am not faulting them just pointing out that children can learn language by doing fun things that they are interested in, it doesn't have to look like a classroom.

I created a handout that is written in parent friendly vocabulary for everyday activities like going to the beach, park or during camping. Speech Seeks and Language Looks -Pirate theme

Arrrrr, Matey~!

I found a wonderful free product on TPT its a pirate themed freebie. I love that it can be used for my artic. or language kids! It is free and black and white- both things that are great for the budget!

 

Speech Seeks!
You can print this off and have your students find as many things as they can with their sound. This product targets r, s, sh, l, th, f, v, k, g, ch, and j, so many sounds! And all you need is a little imagination if it doesn't use your sound. All you need to do is use your target sound in the phrase. Using the same word over and over helps with progress and motor planning. 

 

Language Looks!

For language, you can use the sheet for vocabulary or verbs. Have the student choose the item and then use an appropriate verb that would go with that item. For example, I found a treasure a turtle that is swimming & yesterday the turtle swam. This is more difficult so you may have to help with this target but it really gets them thinking!!

What am I?

 

I am sure if you are anything like me, many of the kids you work with have trouble with vocabulary, and especially their functional vocabulary. I made something to help with this... I find that many times the kids have trouble with common vocabulary items and have an even more difficult time describing these items. The first step is to show them how to describe these items so I made this pack. I made it  to help with identifying which item we are talking about by reading the clues and attributes of each item. 
The bingo game in this pack is designed for you to read the attributes or a description of what the item is used for and then the student covers up the item on their bingo mat! Hopefully at this point, they will have more skills to describe more items and be able to give important information about what they are talking about. 
 

 What am I describing clip cards:

Bingo Mats!

You can use these clip cards as a literacy center or speech therapy for children who are reading (or you can read to them). Make the bingo game more fun by using fun manipulative like goldfish or gummy bears. The first person with a straight line or black out wins!
