Severe Language Caseload

Severe Language Delay Bundle- 4 Weeks

Do you have any students with severe language delays? I do. I needed a product that was good for older kids that were struggling, but not too kiddish. I also needed it to target some skills that they were lacking, like coloring, cutting and pencil grasp. I wanted it to be effective and for every activity to be targeting goals - no time to waste! I also didn't want to be spending a tone of time on prep.

I couldn't find what I needed so I made it. Now, be kind, this was a product I made a long time ago, so it may not be the prettiest, but I tried! Lol :)

There is a week's worth of activities in this pack (if you see the child everyday, if not it is appropriate for 2 weeks or longer!!)

Sensory Bins

Hey!
Need a simple sorting bin that you can use with your kids who have severe receptive and expressive language delays?

You can use this to teach concepts, pronouns, possessives, and vocabulary.
Place the cards in a fun sensory bin, bag or bowl. Then have the student choose a card and decide if it's:
  1. fast/slow
  2. an anima/clothing
  3. a pronoun he/she
  4. possessive his/hers
  5. an action
  6. in/out
  7. on/off
  8. behind/beside

Interactive Book Bundle

Teacher, Teacher, What Do You See?

You've probably heard thy hype, but Interactive books seem to be all the rage!
There are so many ways and types of books you can use! I want to show you how I use mine.

First off, they are good for your whole caseload but especially for your kids with severe receptive and expressive language delays. The interactive pieces are great to keep them engaged and their hands busy :)

Teacher, Teacher, What Do You See?

You can use the interactive books for teaching common vocabulary. You can name the picture, and they choose it, then to make it more challenging you can describe the item and have the student choose the correct item.

Car, Car, What Do You See?

City, City, What Do You See?

Farm, Farm, What Do You See?

House, House What Do You See?

Interactive - What Do You See Bundle
House, House What Do You See?

In this House book of mine, you can use it for sorting items into the correct rooms.

To change it up you can turn it into a center :)

In my interactive bundle there are 6 books:
Farm, City, House, Teacher, Ocean, & Car.
They can be incorporated with your different themes.

AND the best part its only $6!!

Community Helper preschool Pack

Community Helper Preschool Pack

Hello!
I will be starting to work with a new group of preschoolers who have severely delayed language skills so I needed a pack, QUICK! I wanted something that would promote free play, build vocabulary, social skills and gross motor skills. I got my butt in gear and made this pack! It is based on community helpers. This pack is specifically designed for preschoolers who have language delays. The purpose is to increase vocabulary and social skills as well as creating a language rich environment in the preschool room. I have activities that do target letters and letter sounds, however, this focus of this pack is not to teach literacy and phonics but to be more of an introduction to literacy and language to kids who have had little exposure. (That is why not all of the letters are included.)

Included is a weekly, step by step plan!

Also, I believe that free play is very important for children. There are a lot of “text” based activities but please allow the children time to play, freely. I do have a few text based activities but I really wanted to focus on natural language exposure and a natural environment.

Here are just a few of the items you can expect!

I have added a few pages for a restaurant center.
Good luck, and enjoy!
Thanks!

Severely Delayed Language Skills

Severe Language Delay- Week 3

I've noticed lately that I am having a hard time finding relevant resources for students, especially older students, who have severely delayed language skills.
I am working on these weekly packages that are great for younger kids but I am going to start something for some older kids.
Any ideas? Anything you need or really want to see?
Leave a comment because I would love to hear what you think!
